Description
Summary:Local firms in Singapore are facing stiff competition in the domestic market. As such, the local firms are moving their resources to the regional countries as they offer vast business opportunities. Thus, this report serves to provide an in-depth analysis of the reasons behind such decisions to go regional. The case studies presented in this report are based on interviews with six local companies who already have overseas ventures and are also planning to expand such operations. The reasons behind these companies' decisions to venture overseas are presented in addition to the problems encountered and the steps taken to overcome them. The marketing strategies of the individual companies are also analyzed, and available governmental assistance schemes for overseas expansion are also presented in this report. In addition to general suggestions to improve the assistance that the government agencies can provide, recommendations to improve the six company's competitiveness are suggested on a case-to-case basis.
