Statement of Accounting Standard No. 7 Revised [SAS 7 (R)], Cash Flow Statement (CFS), was introduced in Singapore in August 1994. With effect from 1 January 1995, it superseded SAS 7, Statement of Changes in Financial Position (SCFP), which is in line with the trend in other countries where CFS have been adopted in favour of Funds Statements. Motivated by the fact that both SCFP and CFS are presented with respect for the same financial reporting year end 1994, this Applied Research Project seeks to provide an insight to the relative merits of both types of statements.
