As partial fulfillment of the requirements of the Degree of Bachelor of Accountancy course in Nanyang Technological University, all final year students are required to group themselves into teams of three members to complete an Applied Research Project (ARP) under the supervision of a designated academic staff. The ARP may take the form of content analysis using published databases, case studies, surveys or an experimental research. The objectives of the ARP are summarized as follows: • To help undergraduates undertake independent study to upgrade their knowledge and skills • To help undergraduates integrate some of the knowledge gained during course work in solving problems • To provide training for a professional who is expected to use his knowledge, skills and training to solve problems • To allow undergraduates to work in areas of their interest that are not covered in the course work of their programmes.
