The primary objective of this Applied Research Project is to evaluate the performance of the Stock Exchange of Singapore All-Finance (SESFIN) Index and the stocks of six local full-licensed banks vis-a-vis the market. The Stock Exchange of Singapore All-Share (SESALL) Index serves as a proxy for the composite market index. The evaluation is conducted with a view to aid an investor in deciding whether or not to invest in the shares of the Finance sector and more specifically which bank stock to invest in, with the hope of earning consistently supernormal profits or excess return.
