This is because the failure of a marriage have several implications. It could mean costly divorce proceedings and traumatic separation. In addition, an individual's work productivity maybe adversely affected. As Singapore's main asset is her human resource, she cannot afford to have such a decline in productivity. Thus, the choice of a marriage partner is very important and the selection should start right at the very beginning of the dating process.
