There is lack of evidence in support of the short- run Fisher Effect in Malaysia, when monthly time series between 1980 - 1996 were used. The regression analysis consistently show very low R-square and evidence of change in future inflation with respect to associated changes in short term interest rate cannot be found. The variables involved in the regression analysis are stationery according to the unit root tests.
