This research study reports on an empirical investigation of the association of managers' budget-related behaviour and managerial roles in the context of pooled versus reciprocal departmental interdependence. The data was gathered from 84 companies from both public and private sector organizations. Multivariate canonical correlation analyses were used and the results suggest that a relationship exists between managers' budget-related behaviour and managerial roles and that this relationship differs significantly between the two types of interdependency.
