In a relatively short span of around 30 years, PSA was able to bring Singapore up to be the busiest port in the world (in term of shipping tonnage). We anaylse the factors contributing to its meteoritic rise to be the transshipment hub it is today. In the face of intensifying competition and changing industrial conditions, we look into further into the sustainability of PSA's success in such circumstances and explore the new directions and measures that PSA should adopt.
