Due to the many functions performed by the CEO and the increasing popularity of equity investment among Singaporeans, the research was undertaken to determine the effects of an announcement of a new CEO on the firm's stock price. A final sample of 33 firms listed on the SES was constructed and abnormal returns during the event period were derived using the OLS Market Model. Assumptions related to the OLS regression such as normality of data and homoscedasticity were also tested.
