sg-ntu-dr.10356-579862023-05-19T06:16:16Z A study on career success definitions, career stage and its effects on job satisfaction/organisational commitment for companies in Singapore Chan May Ling, Chua Suat Ling Sharon, Teng Hsiao Ping Linny Irene Chew Keng-Howe Nanyang Business School DRNTU::Business::Management::Organizational behavior 86 p. The aim of this study is to investigate whether a match between an individual's and his/her organisation's definition of career success exists among white-collar employees in Singapore. It is hypothesised that such a match between the two definitions will lead to job satisfaction and organisational commitment. This, in turn will aid efforts to retain human resources in organizations. In addition, there is an attempt to explore the impact of career stage on an individual's definition of career success. Furthermore, the effect of variables such as career stage, pay, hierarchical level and educational level on job satisfaction as well as organisational commitment will be looked into. The relationship between job satisfaction and organisational commitment will also be examined in the Singapore context.
