Discretization of a continuous band limited signal is done by sampling the signal with any frequency higher than twice the maximum frequency. This results in a set of samples with fixed time interval. Studies have revealed that discretization can also be done by sampling signals in such a way that the time interval need not be fixed in order to reconstruct the original signal completely. Non-Uniform sampling can revolutionize the analog to digital conversion system by reducing the computational space and processing time. An extensive research was done on this field and the details of which are given in this report. The project has also resulted in the development of a novel algorithm to perform Non-Uniform sampling.
