Despite of its adaptability and convenience of construction, this kind of computer networks suffers from problems such as frequent link breakage and network partitioning, which in turn could significantly compromise the quality of network services. Thus it makes the connectivity maintenance a major challenge. In this thesis, the authors focus on the restoration and survivability issues of the wireless ad hoc networks.
