The objective of this research was to study the moment-rotation behaviour of composite steel top-and-seat-and-web (TSW) angle joints at elevated temperatures. Both analytical and experimental studies were carried out in this study. A new component-based mechanical model for composite TSW angle joints was developed from the principles of the component method. The novel feature of the new mechanical model is the inclusion of a new component model for the reinforced concrete slab in tension, which includes the important contribution of cracked concrete and considers its holistic behaviour under in-plane tension. The principle of the new mechanical model is also general and applicable to other forms of composite joints.
