Newspapers consistently portray the country as an emerging dragon. We believe that in time to come, Vietnam will prosper. It is with this mindset that we carry out this research project which seeks to capture a part of the action in such exciting times. This study aims to provide readers with a better understanding of the many financial problems and concerns of investors who placed their bets on Vietnam. By exploring the banking environment and using it as a backdrop, we will evaluate the different banking needs of investors engaged in diverse business operations. Our report has been designed to be as interesting as it is informative. We hope that the issues discussed in this study will prove useful to potential investors and bankers habouring the thought of joining the band-wagon headed for this land of opportunities. We will concentrate on the major financial considerations of investors, rather than minute details. Throughout the project, we did our best to overcome certain limitations and constraints encountered during the course of our research in terms of fact-finding and data verification, and organized a fieldtrip to Vietnam itself To sum up, it has been a most enriching and enjoyable experience for the three of us working together on this applied research project which certainly provided experiences for us to reminisce about in the future.
