Description
Summary:This is a final year project that involves building a web application for a salon called “Salon House”, which aims to improve the efficiency of reservation in the salon, and orientates the business around customer satisfaction. These are achieved by creating a platform that allows members to book an appointment online, to visualize how they will look like with a chosen haircut from a catalogue and to allow them to interact with administrator and hairdressers through messaging. The solution to build hairdo visualization feature is by using Javascript and PHP GD library, users are allowed to select a haircut and upload their own photos to the server, after which the two images can be resized using keyboard and mouse buttons, such that the haircut is able to overlap on top of the existing haircut. The haircut is also able to change its colour according to the user’s liking. By having this functionality, people are more confident of the haircut that they will be having, thereby increasing their likelihood that they will patron the salon. This concept is simple but useful, as unnecessary waiting time are cut short and customer satisfaction generally increases as they have a better idea of what haircut they can expect from the salon.
