Summary: | Flock commonly refers to a group of animals, where animals form groups among themselves and operate in their flock groups. Through the use of flocking simulation, many researches/applications are able to achieve the result relatively fast when compared to manual work. In light of this, Flocking Animation and Modelling Environment (FAME) is being developed aiming to provide users with a better control over flocking behavior.
Over the years, FAME was improved gradually and many advanced features have been implemented. Those implementations allows FAME to provide users with more choices for simulation, such as obstacle avoidance, restraints from environmental conditions, path following and many more. One area that is lacking in FAME is the flocking simulation of ground animal units, which can be commonly seen in games or movies.
This report will first conduct a research on animals flocking behaviors before implementing it at a later stage. However as there are just too many considerations that need to be taken into account given the vast number of animals in the world, this report will only be looking at certain behaviors of animals, such as speed and how does age affect speed. |
