Summary:Technology has been advancing very rapidly today, and the same goes for smartphones, and the amount of smartphone users have increased significantly as well. A smartphone today, is used more than just for sending text messages and making phone calls. The amount of users for iOS devices have been increasing steadily till 2010 with its direct competitor Android trailing its way up. Today, E-Commerce, in terms of Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) business model, has ventured its way into smartphones due to the significant increase in smartphone users, and studies have shown that iOS users are 30% more likely to make a purchase on their device. The main purpose of this project is to develop an iOS application called DealsInterest that provides a platform for users to sell their firsthand or secondhand products. The application comprises of e-commerce, social networking and information sharing features. It also allows sellers and buyers to communicate with each other publicly, using the product commenting feature, or privately, using the private chat with push notification feature. The iOS application also comprises of other features such as sorting products according to nearby location, latest products or followers’ products. It allows sellers to post their products and gain appropriate coverage easily. The project consists of a backend server, which handles all the information to and fro from the Android application and the iOS application. The backend server also provides the functionalities necessary in order for the mobile applications to function as stated in the requirements. Most of the features of the application is successfully implemented on iOS platform and the iOS application is deployed and distributed to testers using a third party platform called TestFlight.
