Summary:Gene doping in sport is expected to become an issue in the near future. It is currently banned by the World Anit-Doping Agency (WADA). This paper investigates the areas of athlete health, child rights and gene dope testing procedures from an ethical point of view to understand the implications of prohibiting gene doping. The aim of this paper is to aid future decision and policy making by adding knowledge. The conclusion of this paper supports the lifting of the ban on gene doping based on ethical considerations, albeit within the parameters of this study.
