Summary: | Wireless Body Sensor Network (WBSN) is a research area focusing on wearable sensor nodes that are placed on human’s body in order to create a sensor network. By utilizing the data gathered from the sensor nodes that are attached to the body, human’s critical body vital signs can be monitored. In other words, the implementation of WBSN technology is very essential in healthcare, personal physical wellness, professional sports training, rehabilitation, and military.
The main focus of this paper is the study of the Body Motion, which includes the process of capturing, simulating and visualizing the entire body motion by placing various motion sensors on the important parts of human’s body. The aim is to provide the capability of monitoring human’s physical condition based on their body motion to professional sports trainers and healthcare practitioners.
In comparison with Kinect technology, the WBSN technology does not require its users to always be positioned in front of the camera all the time. In that aspect, Body Motion has the advantage in terms of convenience and portability, as well as its applicability in a lot of areas. |
