Summary: | The Internet has steadily gained acceptance amongst the mainstream population as a vehicle for information interchange and discovery. To aid this process, it is necessary to present information online in formats that are readily accessible to and understood by all. One increasingly popular form of information delivery is infographics in both static and animated forms.
In this project, it is sought to ease the creation of animated infographics by web content creators who may lack experience in professional animation suites, through the development of Visimo, a simple SVG animation tool built off the static creation tool SVG-Edit.
Visimo allows quick animation of existing SVG images through the addition of motion, rotation and other simple effects. It seeks to reduce the learning curve and training required to produce such animations.
This report details the design and implementation of Visimo, with descriptions of technical decisions and the rationale behind them. |
