Patient Information System is specifically designed for the patients to manage medical records in the hospitals and clinics. This system is one of the sub-systems for the Hospital Information System. This idea helps to move away from the manual recording system to electronic system that uses advanced technologies such as computers and mobile devices to record patient data efficiently and automatically. The purpose of this system is to allow the patients to view and create their medical records online. In the era of information technology, more tech-savvy patients use the Internet to access health information. The use of latest devices including smartphones and tablets is encouraged for the optimized development of the web application for patients in order to catch up with the current events of technological era. The future recommendations for improving the web application are web accessibility, appointment schedule and email notification.
