Summary:This project aims to document and present Indonesian contemporary popular and social culture through Indonesian slang language. With a hypothesis that the Indonesian slang and Indonesian social & popular culture have a close relationship, the project is set to look at both Indonesian slang and its present-day culture. Perhaps, there are some local Indonesian cultures that are more interesting when it is presented through Indonesian slang. By investigating the mutual relationship between Indonesian slang and popular/social culture, the project hopes to draw out a connection and point out distinct characteristics of Indonesian contemporary culture.
