Summary: | Kaki is a term used to describe a companion thus Kopi Kaki means having a coffee partner. Kopi Kaki revolves around the concept of a communal living that is prevalent in our kampong hang out area where our retirees used to live in. Kampongs today has been vanished from our lives and our retirees spend hours sitting aimlessly in coffee shops and pavilions within their heartlands to pass time. Therefore Kopi Kaki’s pavilion is used to translate and bring back the nostalgia idea of a kampong communal living. In addition, the design of the series of chair used is designed to adapt into the retirees sitting posture that was observed around Singapore and the concept of a take away coffee and tea packet that is uniquely used in Singapore. Thus the design of the pavilion is used to house the series of chairs that are used for communal living. |
