Description
Summary:CarTridge is a transport interior project focusing on taking a user-centered approach that revolves around rail based transportation, train. Conventional train system from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore used to take 7 hours and had cramped interior with unappetizing food being served on board. It was announced that plans to build a high-speed rail that facilitates travel between Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Singapore cutting travel time to just 90 minutes and with this announcement, comes about a need for new and inspiring train designs that take a user-centered experience. CarTridge has three different purpose carriages – lounging, vending, and viewing. The lounging carriage is inspired by bars and allows passengers to socialize and/or relax, with fully carpeted floor, L-shaped sofas and egg chairs to create a relaxing atmosphere. The vending carriage will have vending machines that sell various products such as souvenirs and local delights and are intended to be a space for people to purchase food and/or gifts. Lastly, the viewing carriage lets passengers enjoy the scenery in a tranquil environment and focuses on earthy shades of color with large windows to allow for maximum natural sunlight.
