Description
Summary:My Final Year Project is an Investigative Film Installation featuring the film M.I.A…. In M.I.A..., the audience plays the role of the “M.I.A. investigative team”. They are to review and study the footage that was received from a network of futuristic surveillance satellites. This hyper-advanced technology has the ability to discretely probe into the thoughts of its target. The audience may navigate across the film and activate the “investigative” function to uncover hidden footage that will explain the mystery behind the disappearance of their target. This installation is designed to engage an audience of interest in mystery and puzzle solving. The film is recorded in High Definition (1920px by 1080px). It’s interactivity is programmed in the software, Max/MSP. Together with pressure sensors connected via the Tea Box hardware, the installation aims to create an awareness of social surveillance and at the same time promote a new format of social interactivity in a shared space. In three subsequent sections, I will be reporting areas of research, concept development and the installation architectural design. Attached to the report are supporting documents detailing the initial proposal, game design technicalities, production in filming and the design in user experience.
