Description
Summary:『前人種樹,後人乘涼』 “One generation plants the trees in whose shade another generation rests.” After around 4 decades of careful greenery planning, Singapore has finally reached her harvesting season. However, as our lives get busier day by day, we seem to have forgotten how to appreciate the garden we have built so far. In the age of information overload, we are bombarded by the buzzing of the city life every moment, it is important for us to still be able to quiet ourselves down; to stop chasing for a moment, and start appreciating. Adopting a new way of seeing inspired by the aesthetic ideals of wabi-sabi into our lifestyle, the way of seeing that emphasizes the appreciation of the vernacular and everyday life; the way of seeing that brings contentment on what we have instead of complaining about what we do not have, to re-examine our environment, seeing our city in a new light and feel the joy of being in this Garden City.
