Summary: | Citations. These days’ citations can be retrieved from databases such as ACM, Scopus, World of Science and Google Scholar. Each having their set of advantages. From research done on these databases, it was found that there are various under citation in them and they are therefore, often unreliable information sources for the most commonly used citation-based metrics in Computer Science. In addition, Scopus & WOS Databases reflect a significant bias against covered conference proceedings, resulting in underestimation of their impact. In the course of this project, a GS database containing authors and their citation information is built using a custom-built web crawler. With the use of the database, data mining analysis can be carried out to derive new knowledge & information about GS citation. One such analysis is to calculate new less biased H-index values. |
