Description
Summary:The interests in application of Wireless Body Sensor Networks (WBSN) in health monitoring application have grown considerably. Therefore, the technological approaches for detecting and monitoring the fatigue state of the runners continue to emerge. It has emerged as a new research area for monitoring physiological and activity information of people in human centric application. A new use of sensor networks had been found in the area of wearable health monitoring. In this paper, a health monitoring prototype system for visualization of real-time sensor signals had been proposed by utilizing the wearable sensors to monitor and detect runner’s fatigue state. The system consists of multiple sensors placed on human body for measurement and evaluation of vital parameters, such as Electromyography (EMG), heart rate variability, pulse oximetry, body temperature and oxygen saturation in the body, providing real-time feedback to the user and medical personnel. These sensors are used to collect vital signs of human and transmitted wirelessly to the sensor server where the data are stored for future use. The prototype system had been successfully tested in real time where data was successfully obtained and displayed. With the capability of monitoring vital signs of human, it can also be used in the areas for personal wellness, professional sports training and even in the military.
