Description
Summary:Myocardial infarcted (MI) is the medical term used to describe the destruction of heart tissue arises from blockage of blood supply to the heart muscle which may raise heart attack. Even if a person is recovered from MI, there will be permanent damage to the heart tissues and muscles. To detect such damage, MI can be diagnosed using invasive test (coronary angiography and balloon flotation catheter) and non-invasive tests such as electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Computed tomography (CT). Echocardiography remains as one of the most popular and commonly used non-invasive diagnostic tests in preliminary stage. In this report, echocardiography is widely discussed and also the effectiveness to detect MI with texture analysis approach using echocardiography images. Twenty images from MI and non-MI patients respectively were used in this study and had obtained statistically significant level of 14 out of 16 features with p < 0.01.
