In this project, facile and cost effective method is used to get mono-shape and narrow size distribution PtCu nanoparticles. Apart from this, it is also discovered that the size is tunable by changing the amount of oleylaime. Catalytic activity of size-controlled PtCu nanoparticles for methanol oxidation was evaluated. The result shows that long nanorods PtCu have higher methanol oxidation efficiency than shorter PtCu nanorods. Likely mechanism for methanol oxidation is discussed.
