Description
Summary:The education system has always been the main focus in Singapore. Competition in academic intensify with every student trying their very best to stay on top. Assessment books are always available in the market for the students to practice for their subjects and familiarize with the questions. However, the assessment books have limited variety of questions the students can practice on. Some may browse online for web based assessment questions. Similarly, these few online assessment systems have limited questions with every questions are repeated once the whole assessment are done. There is a need to generate questions with more flexibility and dynamically to ensure a wide variety of questions can be done by the students. Apart from that, an automated marking system is also needed to complete the assessment process to ensure the students know their results and their mistakes. In addition, graphic questions will be needed to be set as the current system had yet to be done. The goals of this final year project is to enhance the current Primary 4 web based assessment system that able to generate random questions using a dynamic and flexible question generator. The primary goal is to have the feature of an automated marking system whereby the student answers will be marked in detail. The approach for the automated marking system would be mainly focused as it has to be logical in the way the answers are being marked. A variety of graphics question of different topics would be implemented too. The web based assessment system was written in Java language and using Java Server Page. Other software such as MySQL workbench, Eclipse IDE and Apache Tomcat server assisted the development of the project.
