E-learning software package for introduction of modern radar technology

To let students better understand the module "Introduction to Modern Radar", computational models based on Matlab program are developed. It allows the student to explore and study the radar equation, Doppler Frequency and the phased array radar beam pattern. The following two parts of work...

It allows the student to explore and study the radar equation, Doppler Frequency and the phased array radar beam pattern. The following two parts of works are mainly covered in this report: The scope of the first part is to study the essential theories behind the models. It gives a short introduction on the various radar equations which form the backbone for the calculation processes in the model. Secondly, the designs for the Matlab graphical user interface (GUI) are also covered in this project. The GUI design procedures and outcome are shown to validate the effectiveness of using Matlab models as an e-learning tool to consolidate what the students had learnt in class.
