Description
Summary:This Final Year Project serves to develop and provide a scheme of demand response management and load shedding during system constraints or peak periods. Due to changes in electricity consumption of the customers, the load profile will not be flat all the time and it will require the start of some power plants during peak load conditions. Demand response is aimed to change the electricity usage at the customers’ side during peak load periods to maintain the total load demand to a certain limit. To implement a demand response management scheme, three basic methods are introduced: peak shaving, valley filling and load shifting. Using these three methods as well as priority level consideration, three proposed demand response plans are created and a load shedding simulation based on cost benefit will be introduced.
