Description
Summary:DVB-T2 is the most advanced digital terrestrial television system, which is regarded as an extension of the previous existing standard DVB-T. It can make a better use of spectral resources; provide better additional bit rate and offer more robustness, flexibility and at least 50% more efficiency than other DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) system. The specification is developed primarily for fixed rooftop reception antennas, and it has an identical frequency spectrum channel characteristics like DVB-T so that it enables the compatibility with the existing transmission infrastructure. The project that the author was enrolled in will research on the technology of DVB-T2 and the potential factors, which influence the performance of the digital TV signal reception. By analysis all the effects, the results of the project would be useful for improving the quality of digital TV. All the experiments was implemented in Jurong area HDB estate and the NTU campus. This project consists of two main parts: the indoor measurement and the outdoor measurement. The final results show that a better antenna and a better test location will result in greater signal reception level.
