LauncherCopter - design and development of CanSat landing quadcopter
This project involves the development of a CanSat deploying quadcopter. The goal of this project is to design a quadcopter which is able to fulfill the launching requirements of international CanSat competition, namely to deploy a CanSat weighing at most 600g at an altitude of 670m. In other words,...

In other words, the quadcopter designed should be able to carry the extra load besides having ability to fly high altitude. Additional features such as carrier box, wireless camera and LED indicators were added onto the quadcopter to assist in this deployment process. The carrier box was innovated such that it also acts as the landing skid of quadcopter. The wireless camera on the other hand, has the ability to pan and to tilt so that users will have access to the inside and outside view of the carrier box. Besides, LEDs were added as an indicator of flight direction and also of phases in launching process. With the additional features installed to the quadcopter, quadcopter’s weight became the main issue in this project. Hence, several steps were taken to reduce its overall weight. A graphical user interface was developed to ease the control of these additional features and to act as a guideline to the users. Pushbuttons and indicators were added to this interface for simpler controlling and monitoring work. Besides, video footage from the wireless camera is also displayed in this interface.
