This is particularly more significant for the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) industry, given the numerous short life-cycle products that characterize the industry. The advent and proliferation of the Internet presents an opportunity to reduce the time-to-market in the HDD industry. With the initiation and set-up of a Collaborative Engineering Portal for the HDD industry in Singapore, the Data Storage Institute (DSI) plans to provide effective integration of I-IDD manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and third-party providers for full-scale design and manufacturing activities. |
