Description
Summary:This paper studies the implementation of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) in a manufacturing company. To determine the choice of auto-identification, a detailed comparison of barcode and RFID is done, including the problems they will pose when used in the company. New barcode or RFID technologies are explored and a simple cost analysis is used to compare the cost of the hardware needed. By using Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) software Expert Choice, it is concluded that barcode is more feasible in the company despite the advantages of RFID. The middleware and process flows of the WMS are also studied.
