Description
Summary:Today many airlines, including Singapore Airlines (SIA), carry unused equipment such as meal trays, plates and cutlery between airports because of the need to balance the number of equipment at the terminating airports. This current operating procedure is termed equal equipment exchange. Although this policy is simple and ensures high quality in-flight services, it wastes fuel and precious space onboard. Another problem is that SIA carries excess ground inventory due to inadequate inventory management policies.
