This leads to the growing emphasis in organizations to practice environmental performance measurement. The concept has even extended beyond company premises to the supply chain (SC) level as greater opportunities for environmental improvement and cost savings are expected. Although rising attention has now shift to measurement at SC level, there is yet a standard method or performance measure tool available to implement GSCPM. It creates difficulty in benchmarking environmental performance within the SC and externally with other SC. Therefore, this report involved the research on GSCPM with the aim of proposing a framework for GSCPM that set the standard for benchmarking. This will be accomplished by examining to existing environmental performance measure tools for applicability for GSCPM adaption.
