The main reason for this can be attributed to the fact that much information is lost when a picture is taken in a conventional camera. Light field imaging can be used to address this issue as it captures information about the direction of individual rays of light hitting its many micro-sensors. When a light field image is zoomed, it can be seen that it is made up of circular shaped micro-images. It is possible to get several views form the same image depending on which pixel we extract out from the micro-image of the main light field image. This can be used to focus on different parts of the images to get more information on specific portions of the scenes. In this project, research has been carried out on how to generate these views. This project uses MATLAB software to detect these circular shapes and also find their centers. This information can then be used to simulate different views from a light field image. Research information, implementation and results that have been gathered are included in this report. Over the years, there has been an increasing problem of focusing of images in conventional photography.
