This selected project is development of an automated Virtual Array Channel Measurement Test Bed and is in Tracking and Positioning field. In addition, this project is based on the “Project No: A5166-121 Tracking and Positioning using Dead Teckoning System and Ubiquitious Wireless Signal”. In this project, an Agilent PNA-X Network Analyzer N5244A – 10MHz to 43.5 GHz is used to measure the power levels and angles for the localization sweep. Then, the results are saved for further studies. Initially, the experiments were performed manually. It was tedious and time consuming. After that, the former final year project (FYP) partially developed an automatic system by Faulhaber Motors and MATLAB program to automate the experiments. This project continued to develop the automatic system so that the whole experiment would be operated automatically. As the system had been partially completed, this project would focus on the bug fixes and function improvements. Then, the separated transmitter and receiver components would be integrated into one whole automatic system. This report would provide the improvements, additional functions and code used with explanations. Adequate figures and tables would be demonstrated for better understanding. In the end of this report, the conclusion, the status of this project and the suggested future work would be presented.
