Summary: | By using the available daily rainfall data from rain gauges located around Singapore, the author proceeded to investigate the temporal rainfall distribution characteristics in Singapore. This was done by plotting graphs such as Total amount of rainfall received in Singapore against Year, Sum of the cumulative number of days without rainfall against Year and Total number of days without rainfall against Year.
In addition, rainfall data from rain gauges located around Singapore were grouped according to geographic areas; North, South, East, West and North East. This was done to determine which region accounted for the largest and smallest amount of rainfall, which region experienced the longest continuous dry period and dry days.
Subsequently, observations from the analysis and adaptations methods applied will be further discussed. Conclusion to the analysis will be made bringing about a closure to this report.
At the end of this study, analysis of the distribution patterns of continuous low rainfall period can be used to make observations to aid the government in its decision making processes. |
