Smart building modeling II : model evaluation
Nowadays, smart building is a common feature in architecture. A laboratory known as BubbleZero (Zero Emission Research Operation) has been set up in Singapore to analyse the performances of low exergy (LowEx) building systems in a tropical climate setting. This is done by using an integrated design...

A laboratory known as BubbleZero (Zero Emission Research Operation) has been set up in Singapore to analyse the performances of low exergy (LowEx) building systems in a tropical climate setting. This is done by using an integrated design approach [1]. A smart building is a complex cyber-physical system. This project involved in taking accurate measurement that will equate to better power management and fault detection. The accurate model knowledge would highly facilitate power management, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control, and fault detection, etc. This project also intends to evaluate the Openstudio plug in for SketchUp and EnergyPlus models in a smart building. For this report, a weather station, called Vantage Pro2 Plus is used to maintain, manage and obtain meteorological data specific. It is located on top of the BubbleZERO laboratory. Measurement and analysis of climatic conditions is essential for the assessment of the viability of renewable energy generation options such as solar radiation sensor and rain collector. It is also essential to assess the thermal performance of building. Hence, the data collected by the Vantage Pro2 Plus Weather Station is useful for various research projects. The collected data will then be process by a microcontroller called Beaglebone Black (BBB) and displayed into the server. User will then be able to access and evaluate the data anytime and anywhere.
