Summary: | Abui is both an ethnic group and a language that has been dwelling in the Alor Island in Eastern Indonesia, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The cultural heritage of this group is gradually disappearing because of the influence of modern society as such the young generation nowadays is no longer able to converse in Abui language or is not aware of the Abui folklore.
The following project was held in an attempt to preserve the Abui culture by transforming one of the stories “The Giant Snake Mon Mot” into a web-based game. With the help of the current technology, such as Unity game engine and Adobe Photoshop, this project was divided into four scenes, where each scene was converted into a game idea, and a playable prototype of the game for the first scene was built. |
