For frequency analysis, we can either use the Gumbel distribution or the Log- Pearson Type III method. For this study, we will focus on the Gumbel distribution for analysing the data to generate different IDF relationships for Singapore. We will focus on the analysis of the annual series. Different sets of annual series data are extracted for analysis and the resulting IDF relationships compared. In the study, IDF relationships based on the different regions in Singapore and also based on earlier periods against the later periods are compared. The results obtained from the comparative studies will allow us to evaluate the rainfall trends in Singapore over the past 50 years.
