Instead of a building a messy, scattered network with thousands of devices, service providers can look forward to a centralized, high programmable and scalable network setup regardless of vendors. So far a lot of researches have been focusing on each individual topic, but only a few targeted to combine these two approaches onto a single proposal. Hence, in this project, we propose a Hybrid WOBAN design and use SDN platform to test the network performance as well as its programmable controller. A simulation model running on Mininet is demonstrated and evaluated using different controllers and topologies written on Python programming language. We used the bandwidth efficiency and delay to evaluate the performance. After conducting various test scenarios, the results have shown that the choices of controller as well as the link parameters have a great effect on the performance of the network.
