Description
Summary:The Energy Market Authority, in partnership with Singapore Power, has launched the Intelligent Energy System (IES) pilot project in 2009. As the testing bed of intelligent energy system project phase one, smart meters were installed in the NTU staff quarters. To bring out the smart features in the smart meters, a web-based consumer energy portal is developed. However, the developed consumer energy portal is unable to communicate with the smart meters at present. Hence, the network management system is introduced to provide a communication pathway between the smart meters and the consumer energy portal. A database was designed for the consumer energy portal to store relevant information from the smart meters through the network management system. The consumer energy portal is currently capable of displaying energy consumption and billing information for each registered energy consumers. Enhancement is made in such a way that the administrator of the site is able to view the consolidated bill for all the registered energy consumers.
