總結: | This project mainly focuses on the collection of data for traffic light controls in multi-junction area. As the population grows tremendously in Singapore, it has become increasingly important to do data collection and improve road conditions to provide a better road journey. The Clementi area, along the Commonwealth Avenue, was being evaluated for six continuous junctions during the peak hour of 8am to 9am as this part of the road is heavily used and usually congested at this hour.
VISSIM was used to create the basic traffic model and network layout based on assumed parameters such as expected driving behaviors and conflict areas as realistic as possible. Traffic light signal timing was calculated by formula determining fixed time theory. Dynamic assignment was used to determine the route trips and volume of traffic for each origin and destination. The statistic for travel time, number of car stops, average delay time, number of vehicle that left the network and queue length at each traffic light signal was generated using simulation from VISSIM.
In order to improve road conditions, the traffic light signals at all five junctions will be optimized by Transyt to achieve best phasing time. The optimized traffic light signals have proven to produce better results than the calculated fixed time signal for VISSIM. |
