The cost for electricity generation, transmission and distribution has been keep increasing over the years. This leads to the quest to source for alternative form of energy and technology solution to address the issues mankind are facing. This gave birth to the raise of an emerging generation, transmission and distribution of electricity known as the Microgrid (MG).
The distinctive feature and benefits of such system has received great popularity as years goes by. But further experimentation has to be carried out in order maximise its potential. One of which is the development of an optimum control strategy in controlling the voltage, frequency, real and reactive power for the system.
Simulation software known as Matlab/Simulink is being deployed in this project to carry out the above-mentioned tasks.
The focus of this project will be on designing MG network and developing a suitable control strategy in optimising its power flow in the networks generated by the distributed generators (DGs) under various scenarios. |
