The softwares used to develop the mobile translator application are namely the Eclipse, Software Development Kit (SDK) Manager and Android Development Tools. Subsequently, the testing of the application made use of the Android Emulator and an external device, a Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100 smartphone.
This application allows user to access the common translated phrases for eight different categories, as well as allowing user to input an English word to translate to a Chinese word. In addition, user will be able to listen to the translated word or phrase spoken by a native speaker. |
